Concert
The Trials of Cato zijn een Welsh/Engelse folkband die oorspronkelijk bestond uit Tomos Williams, Will Addison en Robin Jones. Hun debuutalbum 'Hide and Hair' uit 2018 won in 2019 'Best Album' in de BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. In 2020 verliet Will Addison de groep en werd vervangen door Polly Bolton, een mandolinespeelster en zangeres, bekend van haar werk met The Magpies en Stillhouse.
Het oorspronkelijke trio vormde de band in Beiroet na hun universitaire studies, terwijl ze daar werkten als docenten Engels. Na de Beiroet periode verbleef de band bij een vriend, Cato, die niet bepaald van hun muziek hield. Een feyne anekdote over het ontstaan van 'The Trials of Cato'.
Hun langverwachte tweede album verscheen in november 2022. Het album, met de titel 'Gog Magog', is zowel vernoemd naar de mythische reus uit de Arthurlegende als naar de heuveltop in Cambridgeshire, waar de CD ontstond tijdens het coronatijdperk.
